Long-Tailed Monkey Habitats. Monkeys are one of the most animals in the world that people want to keep them as a pet. There is one kind of monkey that we usually meet mostly, they are the long-tailed monkey, or Macaca fascicularis in the scientific name. They are the common species in the Asia continent. The long-tailed monkey habitats adaptability is quite unique. So, no wonder why they can be everywhere and live anywhere. We usually know this monkey as the naughtiest creature around. So, because of that, in this article, we will be talking about Macaca monkey that commonly we see wherever we go.

Physical appearance and habits

Long-tailed monkey or Macaca Fascicularis is one of many primates in the world. They walk with four legs, or usually called quadrupedalism. They are called long-tailed monkeys because of the length of their tail that surpassed their head and body. They are considered to be the most popular kind of primate because their populations are still a lot in the world, especially in Asia.

The fascinating part is this monkey habitats are considered to be unique. They are familiar with the humans around them. This made some of us want to keep one of those monkeys as a pet. Sometimes, their habits become problematic in our daily life. One of them is like when we are drying food by sunbathing it, we will find most of the dried food was stolen by these monkeys. Sometimes, they also devastate some furniture when they panic and try to run away. Because of that, this long-tailed monkey is considered to be a smart and agile species.

Usually, the long-tailed monkey uses both of their hands to grab food or use their teeth instead. However, in a clutch situation, they immediately put the food in their cheek pouches and run away. When the situation is clear, the food they hide will be taking the food up from their mouth, picking them up again, then chewing and eating them again. I admit that stuff is quite nasty.

Habitats

According to a few scientific researches about the long-tailed monkey, this animal can survive in many kinds of habitats in the tropical climate area. This unique ability is known as ecologically diverse. The natural habitats of this monkey such as mangrove swamps, primary forests, secondary forests, and around farms. Riparian areas included as well, such as seashores, lakesides, and riversides.

We can find long-tailed monkeys in the place with a height below 0-12000 meters below the sea levels. However, their living place could be said to be higher than that. These monkeys are diurnal. In other words, they are active during daylight. Also, their activities are regular. We all know what kind of problematic things happen to us when they start looking for food.

In the long-tailed monkey habitats, they usually live in a group consisting of many males and females. In 100 monkeys in a group, the monkeys that are still nursing can be pregnant again. This made their populations many and kept growing.
